Children's opera: A magical experience

Tom is 10. He loves to play with two figures given to him by his grandfather. His mother and father are worried about him because he cuts himself off. They do everything they can to make sure their son will not be lonely. Tom has a difficult time in a daily life where there is far too much that he cannot live up to. He feels best when he is drawing: heroes and dragons, kings and queens – in that world he doesn’t need to relate to school, parents and friends. Peter Navarro-Alonso combines Mozart’s wonderful, melodic music with a captivating, surprising electronic sound-universe. Jyllands-Posten, four stars: “Modern children’s opera. Liberating. Impressive effect and plenty of potential for interpretation”.

The audience is invited on a magical journey through the tunnel and into Tom's lonely world of fantasy. The concept of set designer Christian Q Clausen creates space for wonderful animated films by Kim Fast.
